Description |
EGFR is a protein encoded by the EGFR gene which is approximately 134, 3 kDa. EGFR is localised to the cell membrane. and endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is involved in RET signalling, apoptotic pathways in synovial fibroblasts, glioma and the GPCR pathway. It is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. It binds to epidermal growth factor and this induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. EGFR is expressed ubiquitously with isoform 2 also being expressed in ovarian cancers. Mutations in the EGFR gene may result in lung cancer and Cowden syndrome. STJ92862 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of EGFR. |
