Description |
Cbl is a protein encoded by the CBL gene which is approximately 99, 6 kDa. Cbl is localised to the cytoplasm and cell membrane. It is involved in negative regulation of FGFR1 signalling, signalling by EGFR in cancer and the T cell receptor signalling pathway. It is an adapter protein that functions as a negative regulator of many signalling pathways that are triggered by activation of cell surface receptors. It accepts ubiquitin from specific E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, and then transfers it to substrates promoting their degradation by the proteasome. Cbl is expressed in blood and cells of the nervous system. Mutations in the CBL gene may result in a Noonan syndrome-like disorder. STJ92057 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Cbl protein. |
