Sequence |
Amino acid sequence derived from Human IL-1alpha protein isoform (P01583-1, Ser113-Ala271) was expressed. |
Protein length |
The recombinant Human IL-1alpha protein consists of 160 amino acids (N-Met) and has a predicted molecular mass of 18 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the Human IL1alpha protein is approximately 18 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation. |
Preparation method |
E.coli |
Purity |
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Formulation |
Lyophilized from sterile 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH7.5. |
Features & Benefits |
Endotoxin: < 1 EU per ug of the protein as determined by the LAL method. |
Molecular weight |
18kDa |
Usage notes |
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human IL-1alpha protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 ug/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. |
Storage instructions |
Lyophilized Human IL1alpha protein protein protein product should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Shipping |
The product is shipped at ambient temperature. |

Background |
IL-1alpha a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a name that designates two proteins, IL-1alpha and IL-1 beta, which are the products of distinct genes, but which show approximately 25% amino acid sequence identity and which recognize the same cell surface receptors. IL-1alpha stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. |
