The patented RingCap technology was independently researched and developed by Spacegen. It is a ring-link capture library technology, a kind of targeted preparation for the sequencing library. It is based on multiplex PCR, overcoming some of the limitations inherent in traditional methods (such as long manual uptime and high upfront equipment costs). Spacegen's RingCap technology requires only 2 processing steps for a total of 3.5 hours (manual processing time is only 45 minutes), which is extremely efficient compared to other technologies. The amount of sample required is also only 2-50 ng DNA or RNA, which is another advantage.
