Technologies

Our partner Intact Genomics has developed two proprietary technologies: The Fungal Artificial Chromosome (FAC) and the 100 kb Large DNA Fragment technologies. The combination of both technologies has enabled the creation of scalable platforms. These are used to develop new solutions for agricultural research, natural product and enzyme discovery, and environmental protection, among others.

SARS-CoV-2 (Covid 19)

The FastAmp® Viral/Cell Solution product line is specifically designed for direct application of RT-qPCR, RT-isothermal DNA amplification or other direct diagnostic kits, without RNA extraction and isolation. The product line is applicable to saliva and swab samples. The FastAmp® Viral/Cell Solution enables efficient collection and processing of viral samples and preparation of viral RNA, for example SARS-CoV-2, in a single tube.

One Step RT-qPCR Kit for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) detection

The Intact Genomics One Step RT-qPCR Kit is used for the in vitro detection of SARS-CoV-2 by quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR). It allows efficient cDNA synthesis and qPCR in a single tube. The kit is suitable for typical SARS-CoV-2 respiratory samples such as sputum, nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal aspirates, washes or swabs, and tracheal aspirates.

T4 enzymes (UvsX, UvsY, gp32 and Bsu).

Intact Genomics has a very large selection of T4 enzymes and proteins. These include the T4 UvsX DNA recombinase, the T4 UvsY protein, and the T4 gp32 protein. Numerous uses, such as recombinase-polymerase amplification optimization and homolog recombination, are possible.

Furthermore, we also offer T4 DNA ligase, T4 DNA polymerase and T4 polynucleotide kinase from our partner, which can assist you in molecular cloning or NGS.

Plant Research

Products available in the Plant Research category include FastAmp® products for direct PCR, and Agrobacterium cells along with several common laboratory reagents.

Competent cells

Intact Genomics offers competent cells with very good transformation efficiency, often 5-10 times higher than comparable products. Competent cells are available from a variety of strains including: DH5-alpha competent cells (ig™ 5-alpha), 10-beta competent cells (ig™ 10B), and BL21 (DE3) competent cells. In addition, electroporation or chemically competent cells are available.

High-Fidelity DNA Polymerases

Intact Genomics Enzyme i7 High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase is a genetically engineered, heat-stable DNA polymerase with 5'→3' polymerase and 3'→5' exonuclease (proofreading) activities. High reliability, sensitivity and processivity characterize the polymerase. The very low error rate, which is about 280-fold lower than that of commercially available Taq DNA polymerase and significantly lower than the error rates of other proofreading enzymes on the market, is another special feature.

The activity of i7 High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase with λ-DNA and other difficult templates for PCR amplification up to 20kb was tested. As a result, the various i7 High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase products from Intact Genomics were able to generate robust and high-quality PCR products.

RT-PCR and RT-qPCR Kits

Intact Genmoc's products for RT-PCR, as well as the RT-qPCR kits all contain their enzyme proprietary IgScript™ reverse transcriptase. This is a recombinant M-MLV reverse transcriptase. It has reduced RNase H activity (RNase H is a non-specific endoribonuclease that recognizes RNA-DNA heteroduplexes and removes the RNA component) and increased thermostability.

Cloning Kits

Intact Genomics' ig-Fusion™ cloning technology is a simple, rapid, and highly efficient cloning kit that can be used to directly clone any PCR product at any site of a linearized expression vector.

Various products are available for the PCR fragments. One option would be to use the high purity Pfu DNA polymerase. Pfu DNA polymerase is an enzyme obtained from the thermophilic bacterium Pyrococcus furiosus. It is thermostable and, in addition to the common DNA polymerase functions of DNA synthesis in the 5'→3' direction and 3'→5' exonuclease activity, it has a read-ahead function characterized by the advance recognition of uracil in DNA strands. Upon recognition of uracil, DNA synthesis is stopped.

The Pfu DNA polymerase is of particular interest for those PCR reactions that have to deliver sequence-exact DNA amplificates. For the other PCR operations, the much cheaper and faster, but less accurate Taq polymerase is sufficient. However, another difference is that, unlike Taq polymerases, Pfu DNA polymerase does not yield 3′-overhangs of adenosyl residues, but rather blunt ends. Thus, cloning of blunt-end cut DNA is possible.

The primers should have a homology of 15 to 18 bases at the linear ends where the product is to fuse.

The kit is robust enough that multiple DNA fragments can be assembled simultaneously and cloned into a construct in a single reaction step within a short time (typically 10-30 minutes) with a cloning efficiency of greater than 95%.
