The Belgian company Eurogentec was founded in 1985 as a spin-off from the University of Liège. Eurogentec has been part of the international Japanese chemical company Kaneka Corporation since 2010. Eurogentec develops and produces high quality products, kits and reaction mixtures for scientists. They are used in molecular biological or diagnostic tests and in the commercialization of new drugs.

Polymerases from the Diamond Taq® family show very high sensitivity and exceptional reproducibility. As highly thermostable enzymes, they are an ideal solution for molecular diagnostics and sophisticated research PCR & qPCR. The polymerases are obtained from recombinant Escherichia bacteria that contain the Thermus aquaticus DNA polymerase gene. This thermophilic eubacterium strain lacks the TaqI restriction endonuclease and catalyzes the 5 '> 3' synthesis of DNA without detectable 3 '> 5' exonuclease activity. The enzyme has 3'-extendase activity, which enables TA cloning.
