Electrophoresis is a very common laboratory technique for the identification, quantification and purification of nucleic acid fragments. The samples are loaded into the agar or acrylamide gel wells and exposed to an electric field so that the negatively charged nucleic acids move towards the positive electrode. Shorter fragments of nucleic acids migrate through the gel faster, while larger fragments migrate more slowly, resulting in size-based separation. Danagen-Bioteds products for gel electrophoresis support you during the entire process, from agarose to buffer systems and DNA standards to the electrophoresis chamber and the energy supply.
