CONGEN Biotechnologie GmbH

The innovative German company CONGEN Biotechnologie GmbH was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Berlin. CONGEN focuses on DNA and RNA analysis.

The company develops its own real-time PCR methods for numerous application areas such as food and water analysis, in vitro diagnostics, personalized medicine and point-of-care diagnostics. The respective validation is carried out according to the demands of standards, customer requirements and/or those of the market. The products are developed with the knowledge gained from current studies.

CONGEN distributes the products and the brand name SureFood®, SureFast®, RIDA®GENE and RIDA®PRECISION in close cooperation with the partner R-Biopharm worldwide.

Products

All CONGEN products are compatible with common real-time PCR instruments, allowing easy handling and versatile use.

Food and water analysis plays an important role in the safety of the food we consume every day. Foodstuffs are subject to mandatory declaration with regard to composition and allergenic substances, which is a statutory right to protect consumers and prevent deception. Some manufacturers advertise with the slogan "without genetic engineering". The products must be controlled and free from harmful microbial contamination or other impurities. The above parameters must be detected, for which CONGEN develops and produces detection methods. Thus, methods are available that detect the corresponding parameters, but animal and plant species determinations are also possible. The range of veterinary diagnostics extends the portfolio. Clinical diagnostics

Products of the RIDA®GENE and SureFast® brands are applicable for clinical diagnostics. The products of the clinical line are manufactured according to the medical standard ISO 13485. The certified high quality associated with this is of enormous importance, especially with regard to the highest possible specificity, sensitivity and reproducibility, as this is the basis for a reliable and safe medical diagnosis and selection of the appropriate therapy.

CONGEN products can be used to identify diseases in the fields of respiratory diagnostics, stool diagnostics, skin and sexually transmitted diseases, nosocomial infections and periodontitis diagnostics.

Personalized medicine

The aim of personalized medicine is to take into account the special circumstances of each individual and to find an individual form of therapy tailored to the specific genetic, molecular and cellular characteristics of a patient. Personalized medicine is forward-looking and enables better adaptation to patient-related influencing variables, such as population, gender and age, which, among other things, can influence preanalytics and thus further therapy. The highest level of therapeutic efficacy with minimal side effects is the claim here.

The same disease can have different causes in different people. Also, all people respond differently to drug treatments. In light of the realities and better understanding in terms of inclusive molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics that explain molecular processes leading to disease, modern diagnostics attempts to predict whether or not a patient will respond to certain drugs and therapies.
