Assay Biotechnology – Antibodies and Immunohistochemistry

Assay Biotechnology is located in the heart of California's San Francisco Bay Area in the USA. Since the establishment in 2006, the company has reputed itself as an antibody manufacturer and antibody technician. Today it is considered one of the most important test and antibody sources with a reach of millions of researchers in over 50 countries around the globe.

Assay Biotechnology has contributed to the industry-leading production and development of antibodies, as well as fluorescent dyes, quenchers, recombinant proteins and synthetic peptides. The high quality assay kits and immunological reagents are used in pharmaceutical and academic research and form an important basis for health care.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is an antibody-based technique that detects antigens of interest in fixed tissue sections. These are often made visible by light microscopy. In the multi-stage application, the coloring is strongly influenced by several variables. High quality reagents and optimized protocols are key to generating accurate expression, localization and distribution data. Assay Biotechnology's full line of IHC products and scientific resources will help you produce valid, reproducible results.

The enzymatic conversion of a chromogen substrate is required to visualize an antigen in traditional IHC experiments. Fluorescence detection is an alternative method that is very well suited for multicolor experiments due to the wide availability of fluorochromes and the emergence of high-contrast imaging. The most critical factor for successful staining is choosing an antibody that specifically binds to the target antigen. Indirect detection requires a labeled secondary antibody and, in some cases, a third layer of signal amplification to detect the antigen-primary antibody complex. Compared to directly labeled primary antibodies, the indirect detection is more sensitive and more important for the effective identification of antigens with low frequency, rare epitopes and under conditions of a suboptimal antigen-antibody binding. Our partner Assay Biotechnology provides you with a wide range of products for immunohistochemistry.
