AB Diagnostic Systems GmbH

AB Diagnostic Systems was founded in 2010 as a German company, headquartered in Berlin. They distribute over 60 different products, including clinical diagnostic products, assays, recombinant antibodies and conjugates. Their ELISA products are CE and ISO 13485 certified.

AB Diagnostic Systems' abia product line color-codes the different categories, providing an innovative concept. The boxes are labeled on two sides from the outside, which simplifies storage and retrieval. They are also size-optimized and very compact. Easy handling and organization in the laboratory is what sets abia apart. The packaging is made of 100% recyclable cardboard. abia stands for high-quality in vitro diagnostic test kits.

The abia product range

The product categories are divided into five color systems: red, orange, yellow, gray-blue and blue, which are presented below. The categories with the most products are abia Hormones and abia Antigenes.

abia Hepatitis, HIV & Covid-19

The special virus diagnostic kits represent the red product line. All kits are available in sizes S and XL.

Infectious hepatitis is caused by hepatitis viruses-A, -B, -C, -D or -E. According to the RKI, hepatitis B is one of the most common infectious diseases. The symptomatic course of an acute hepatitis B infection begins in one-third of infected persons with symptoms such as loss of appetite, malaise, nausea, vomiting and joint pain, followed by fever and jaundice (icterus). In one third, the most obvious sign of the disease, jaundice, is absent. In about one third, the infection is asymptomatic. Very rarely (<1%), however, the infection is particularly severe and rapid (fulminant course).

Available are the different abia Hepatits test kits for serum and plasma samples. abia HBs Ag, is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the wild-type and mutant Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). abia HCV Ab is used for the detection of hepatitis C antibodies. abia HEV IgG qualitatively detects IgG antibodies against hepatitis E viruses. abia HEV IgM is based on the same principle and detects IgM antibodies against hepatitis E viruses.

Human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) belong to the retrovirus family, which means that the viral two-stranded RNA is transcribed into proviral DNA by the virus's own reverse transcriptase. After transport into the cell nucleus of the host, the viral DNA is incorporated into the cell genome by a viral integrase. This has the devastating consequence that an infected cell is thus in principle capable of producing new virus throughout its entire lifetime.

abia HIV AgAb is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus types 1 and 2 (HIV-1 and HIV-2), HIV-1 group O and HIV-1 p24 antigen in human serum or plasma. The assay is intended for screening potential donor material and is for professional use only.

abia SARS-CoV-2 IgG/IgM is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgG and IgM antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, which causes the coronavirus infection COVID-19. Application of this kit is in human serum or plasma.

abia TORCH

The orange TORCH product line is available in pack sizes S and XL. TORCH infections represent a group of congenital infections that are transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum. TORCH is an acronym for infections caused by Toxoplasma gondii, other agents, rubella, cytomegalovirus (CMV), and herpes simplex virus (HSV).

abia Treponema Ab is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to Treponema pallidum in human serum or plasma. The assay is intended for screening for potentially infectious specimens to prevent their use as donor material.

abia Tumor Markers

The tumor marker product line represents the yellow line. All diagnostic test kits are available in package size S.

abia AFP and abia CA 125 are respectively enzyme immunoassays for the quantitative determination of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and CA 125 antigen concentration in human serum and plasma. In addition, the abia PSA total enzyme immunoassays are for the determination of prostate-specific total antigen concentration in human serum and plasma. abia PSA free is for the determination of free prostate-specific antigen (fPSA) concentration in human serum.

abia Allergy

abia Allergy stands for the gray-blue product line, available in package size S.

abia IgE total Enzyme Immunoassay is used for the quantitative determination of total immunoglobulin E (IgE) concentration in human serum.

abia Hormones

The abia Hormones category includes test kits for thyroid diagnostics, steroid diagnostics and fertility & pregnancy diagnostics. They represent the blue product line. Sample products for each subcategory are presented below.

abia TSH is an enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration in human serum. The test is intended to aid in the assessment of thyroid status and the diagnosis of thyroid disease. For professional use only.

abia Cortisol is enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of cortisol concentration in human serum.

abia FSH is an enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) concentration in human serum.

Further products
