What is the PACE^TM technology?

The abbreviation PACE^TM means PCR Allele Competitive Extension, which consequently corresponds to a universal PCR master mix for genotyping. In fact, PACE is specifically designed for use with allele-specific assays (e.g. ASP^TM, Amplifluor^®, etc.)

The PACE^TM Genotyping Master Mix product is 2X concentrated, further the product contains a ROX normalization dye. Furthermore, the dye is available in three concentrations: high concentration of 500 nM, standard concentration of 150 nM or low concentration which is 25 nM.

In contrast, the PACE^TM Genotyping Master Mix has an improvement against unspecific amplification compared to other mixes. In addition, only this master mix is needed, regardless of reaction volume, which reduces costs.

The ProbeSure^TM Genotyping Master Mix

The ProbeSure^TM Genotyping Master Mix is also a PCR reagent for genotyping application, but with application in hydrolysis probe based assays. For this reason, it is not to be used as a general PCR Master Mix or for or HRM applications.

Rather, this Master Mix is specifically designed for endpoint fluorescent detection of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and insertions/deletions (indels). In addition, the master mix provides accurate genotyping clusters and high hit rates for accurate and reproducible allele discrimination.

All components necessary to perform the reaction (except DNA and primers/probes) are included. Furthermore, the Master Mix is supplied 2 times concentrated. It is formulated with dTTP as this increases reaction sensitivity and efficiency compared to mixtures with dUTP.
