Description: Exenatide acetate (Exendin-4 Acetate), a bioactivepeptide composed of 39 amino acids, is antidiabetic medication acting asa long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist with an IC50 of3.22 nM. As a synthetic form of endogenous glucagon-likepeptide-1, Exenatide stimulates insulin secretion, inhibits glucagonrelease, decreases appetite, and slows gastric emptying. As such, it isused as add-on therapy for diabetes mellitus.
