It shows MIC90 (minimal inhibitoryconcentrations for 90%) of between 0.008 and 2 ug/ml forEnterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, andBacteroidesfragilis strains. Ciprofloxacin inhibits topoisomerase IV as aprimary topoisomerase target and gyrase as a secondary target.
