It inhibits ER stress-induced glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) expression, an ER-localized molecular chaperon. Pranoprofen also inhibits ER stress-induced CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein homologous protein (CHOP) expression, an apoptotic transcription factor.
