It acts as a direct HMGB1 antagonist and can potently inhibit growth and cytopathology of several unrelated DNA and RNA viruses. It is cytoprotective* agent.* Ammonium Glycyrrhizinate is able to inhibit the production of ROS. It has antioxidant activity and is effective for the treatment of gastric diseases related to the oxidative stress-induced mucosal damage.
