Host Animal:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids at the N-terminus of the SARS E protein (Genbank accession no. P59637).
Specificity:
SARS-Associated Coronavirus (SARS-CoV) E protein (N-terminal)
Specificity:
Reacts with the N-terminal of the E protein of SARS-associated coronavirus.
Type of Product:
Polyclonal Antibodies to Infectious Agents and Toxins
Concentration:
Lot specificPreservatives: NaN3
Buffer:
PBSApplications Notes : Suitable for use in ELISA. It will detect 10ng of free peptide at 1ug/ml. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Warning:
This product contains sodium azide which has been classified as Xn (Harmful) in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0. 1â ??1. 0%. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains. Rabbit anti SARS E protein NT. Rabbit Antibody to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) E protein N-terminal
Function:
Component of the viral envelope that plays a central role in virus morphogenesis and assembly. It is sufficient to form virus-like particles. Seems to be important for creating the membrane curvature needed to acquire the rounded stable and infectious particle phenotype. Acts as a viroporin inducing the formation of hydrophilic pores in cellular membranes. Also induces apoptosis (By similarity).
Subunit:
Homooligomer. Interacts with the M membrane protein in the budding compartment of the host cell which is located between endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi complex (By similarity). Interacts with the accessory proteins 3a and 7a.
Subcellular Location:
Virion membrane; Single-pass type III membrane protein (Potential). Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type III membrane protein (Potential). Note=Largely membrane-embedded. The N-terminus could be located within the membrane near the cytoplasmic side since no part of the protein is aparently exposed on the virion outside. The large hydrophobic domain could form a hairpin looping back through the membrane. There also may be a second hydrophobic domain integrated into membranes (By similarity).
Similarity:
Belongs to the coronaviruses E protein family.
