For FACS: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For IHC: Use at an assay dependent dilution. It is also useful for labeling the follicular dendritic cells thought to be involved in the generation of B cell memory as it does not label the Ia-positive dendritic cells present in the T-dependant areas of lymphoid organs. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher. Recognises CD200 a monomorphic determinant expressed on rat thymocytes brain follicular dendritic cells in all lymphoid organs endothelium and at low levels on some smooth muscle and B-lymphocytes (2). The antigen recognised is a heavily glycosylated glycoprotein of 47kD in thymocytes and 41kD in brain (3 4). This antibody is a useful marker for the follicular dendritic cells in lymphoid tissues as it does not label the dendritic (interdigitating) cells in T-areas that are Ia antigen positive (2).
