Recombinant full length protein (Human).
Antigen Species:
Human
Specificity:
This product reacts with natural and recombinant human MCP1. It does not react with human interleukin 8 (IL8) and other human cytokines tested such as interleukin 1 beta (IL1 beta) serum amyloid A (SAA) and epidermal growth factor (EGF).
Target:
MCP1
Localization:
Secreted

None. Constituents: 0. 01M PBS. pH 7. 2
Application Note:
ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Neut: Use at a concentration of 0. 5 µ g/ml. WB: Use at a concentration of 0. 1 - 5 µ g/ml. At a concentration of 0. 1 - 1. 0 µ g/mL the antibody will allow visualization of 0. 1 µ g/lane of human MCP1. Concentration of 5. 0 µ g/mL will allow visualization of 50 µ g/lane of rabbit MCP1. Predicted
Molecular Weight:
11 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Cellular
Localization:
Secreted Myeloma: Sp2/0-Ag14 This chemotactic factor attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils and augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates like psoriasis rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. It may be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.
Function:
Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates like psoriasis rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.
Subunit:
Monomer or homodimer; in equilibrium. Binds to CCR2 and CCR4. Is tethered on endothelial cells by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains of proteoglycans.
Subcellular Location:
Secreted.
Ptm:
Processing at the N-terminus can regulate receptor and target cell selectivity. Deletion of the N-terminal residue converts it from an activator of basophil to an eosinophil chemoattractant.
Polymorphism:
Genetic variations in CCL2 determine Mycobacterium tuberculosis susceptibility [MIM:607948].
Similarity:
Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
