Specificity:
CD154
Immunogen:
Recombinant human soluble CD154
Specificity Note:
This product is specific for the soluble form of human CD154 also designated CD40L (sCD40 Ligand) a member of the TNF receptor superfamily comprising the full-length of the TNF homologous region of CD154. CD154 is expressed predominantly on activated CD4+ T lymphocytes and acts as a costimulatory molecule in B cell differentiation/proliferation immunoglobulin switching and germinal centre formation through interaction with the CD40 receptor on B cells and cytokines secreted by activated T cells.
Antiserum Preparation:
Antisera to human CD154 were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline pH7. 4
Preservative Stabilisers:
None present.
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with 0. 1ml distilled water. For long term storage the addition of 0. 09% sodium azide is recommended. Suggested
Dilution:

Dilution:
ELISA - 0. 5ug/mlWestern Blotting - 0. 1 - 0. 2ug/ml Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is expressed on the surface of T cells. It regulates B cell function by engaging CD40 on the B cell surface. A defect in this gene results in an inability to undergo immunoglobulin class switch and is associated with hyper-IgM syndrome.
