Isotype:
Polyclonal IgG
Immunogen:
Recombinant human IL-17
Specificity Note:
This product is specific for human IL-17 (Interleukin-17/17A) a 32kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two 136 amino acid chains which belongs to the IL-17 family (classified as IL-17A to IL-17F) and signals through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217). IL-17 is produced primarily by activated CD4+ T cells and induces a variety of target cells to secrete inflammatory cytokines including IL-1beta IL-6 TNFalpha IFNgamma and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor as well as synergizing with other inflammatory cytokines and agonists. The role of IL-17 in bone metabolism has become a focus area for studies into Rheumatoid Arthritis in which levels of IL-17 are significantly increased and may contribute to bone destruction.
Antiserum Preparation:
Antisera to human IL-17 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by antigen affinity chromatography

Phosphate buffered saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
None present
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with 0. 1 ml distilled water. For long term storage the addition of 0. 09% Sodium Azide is recommended. Product
Note:
For functional studies do not use Azide. Suggested

This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2) as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.
