Specificity:
CDNF (C-TERMINAL)
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgGSpecies Cross Reactivity: Reacts with: Mouse RatN. B. Antibody reactivity and working conditions may vary between species.
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)Approx. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 1. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
A 9 amino acid peptide located near the carboxy terminus of human CDNF.
Specificity:
Recognises human conserved dopamine neurotrophic factor (CDNF) a 20. 9 kDa secreted protein belonging to the ARMET family. CDNF is a neutrophic factor for dopaminergic neurons. Studies have demonstrated that CDNF can prevent the 6-hydroxylamine (6-OHDA)-induced degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in a rat model of Parkinson\' s disease. Additionally CDNF has been shown to restore the dopaminergic function and prevent the degeneration of dopaminergic neurones in the substantia nigra suggesting that CDNF may have potential in the treatment of Parkinson\' s disease. CDNF exists in at least two known isoforms and is widely expressed in both neuronal and non-neuronal tissues. Within the brain highest expression is observed in the optic nerve and corpus callosum.
Specificity:
Does not cross-react with mesencephalic-astrocyte-derived neuro-trophic factor (MANF). Recommended Positive Controls: MOUSE BRAIN TOTAL PROTEIN LYSATERecommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Trophic factor for dopamine neurons. Prevents the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced degeneration of dopaminergic neurons. When administered after 6-OHDA-lesioning restores the dopaminergic function and prevents the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra By similarity. Subcellular locationSecretedRef. 4Ref. 5. Tissue specificityWidely expressed in neuronal and non-neuronal tissues. In the brain highest levels in the optic nerve and corpus callosum. Ref. 4Induction: Not induced by endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Ref. 5Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the ARMET family. 1. Denning S. M. et al. (1995) AS10 CD44 and CD45R Cluster report.
