To ensure lot-to-lot consistency each batch of monoclonal antibody is tested to conform with characteristics of a standard reference reagent using immunofluorescence staining and analysis by on a Becton Dickinson FACScan? flow cytometer. Representative data are included in this data sheet.
Specificity:
Mouse CD69/Very Early Activation Antigen (VEA) Mr 85 kDa (unreduced)CD69 also known as very early activation (VEA) antigen is a disulfide-linked transmembrane homodimer whose differentially glycosylated subunits range from 35-39 kDa. 1 2 It is a C-type lectin most closely related to the NKR-P1 and Ly-49 NK cell-activation molecules. 3 CD69 is widely expressed on hematopoietic cells including lymphocytes neutrophils and eosinophils. 1-4 Although not detectable on resting lymphocytes its expression is rapidly (within 2 hours) upregulated upon activation of T B and NK cells and neutrophils. 4 Constitutive expression of CD69 on subsets of thymocytes suggests that it may be involved in regulation of developmental events in addition to its role in activation of a variety of hematopoietic cells. 4 5 MAb H1. 2F3 augments PMA-induced T-cell proliferation 1 6 and induces redirected lysis of Fc receptor-bearing target cells by NK cells. 7
Warning:
Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin eyes or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing. 1. Yokoyama W. M. F. Koning P. J. Kehn G. M.
