Description |
p504s is an enzyme located in the peroxisome and mitochondria and functions in the beta-oxidation of branched chain fatty acids as well as bile synthesis. Clinically, p504s can function as a cancer biomarker for prostate and colorectal cancer, as well as high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia. Overexpression of the protein has also been indicated in several other cancers, including ovarian, breast, bladder, lung, and renal cell carcinoma, lymphoma, and melanoma. |
