Short Description	ELISA kit for the quantification of rat IgG2a antibodies against bovine type II collagen in rat serum samples. This kit uses TMB as the chromagen.
Background	The Collagen-Induced Arthritis (CIA) rat model uses injections of incomplete Freund's adjuvant (IFA) emulsified with heterologous type II collagen to induce autoimmune arthritis. The development of antibodies to the heterologous collagen used for immunization is an important factor in the development of the CIA model. Given the highly conserved sequence of type II collagen, the antibodies against the immunized collagen can cross-react to autologous type II collagen in the experimental animal. This kit allows for the chartacterization of the immune response to immunization of bovine type II collagen in the rat CIA model.
