Description
Pyruvate kinase (PK) catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP, yielding one molecule of pyruvate and one molecule of ATP. It serves as a regulatory enzyme for gluconeogenesis, where glucose is produced in the liver due to the inhibition of pyruvate production through the phosphorylation of PK.
Formulation
Lyophilized
Reconstitution
Reconstitute in 0.1 M sodium phosphate, pH 7.6.
Specificity
Typically >100 U/mg 37C.
Concentration
Typically >0.4 mg Protein/mg
