Reconstitution	A working dilution 1:1000-1:1500 for immunofluorescence with overnight incubation at 4C is advised but optimal dilution should be tested by serial dilutions. Dilution buffer: 0.15 M PBS with 1% BSA. As positive control rat colon frozen section is recommended.
Specificity	Nitric oxide synthase is an enyme catalysing the synthesis of NO from L-arginine. This antiserum was raised against a synthetic fragment of rat cerebellar NO-synthase, that shows no homology with other related proteins. The antigen used for immunization was synthetic peptide from the C-terminal of cloned rat cerebella NO-synthase, coupled to BSA. The antibody reacts in rat and human frozen tissue. Absorption with 10-100 ug immunogen per 1 ml. diluted antiserum abolishes the staining.
