Immunogen |
SPATA3 antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid synthetic peptide near the carboxy terminus of human SPATA3.
The immunogen is located within the last 50 amino acids of SPATA3. |
Applications |
SPATA3 antibody can be used for detection of SPATA3 by Western blot at 1 - 2 μ g/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 μ g/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 μ g/mL.
Antibody validated: Western Blot in mouse samples; Immunohistochemistry in mouse samples and Immunofluorescence in mouse samples. All other applications and species not yet tested. |
Specificity |
At least three isoforms of SPATA3 are known to exist; this antibody will detect only the longest two isoforms. SPATA3 antibody is predicted to not cross-react with SPATA protein family members |

Background |
SPATA3 Antibody: The testis and spermatogenesis cell apoptosis related gene 1 (TSARG1) protein, also known as SPATA3, is highly expressed in testis, and to a lower extent in other tissues. SPATA3 contains a highly conserved J domain, which is present in all DnaJ-like proteins, and is thus a novel member of the HSP40 protein family. SPATA3 is thought to be involved in apoptosis of spermatogenic cells. |
