Background |
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SMADfamily, which transduces signals from TGF-beta family members. Theencoded protein is activated by bone morphogenetic proteins andinteracts with SMAD4. Two transcript variants encoding differentisoforms have been found for this gene. |

3rd Image Caption |
Fluorescent confocal image of MCF-7 cell stained with SMAD9 Antibody . MCF-7 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with SMAD9 primary antibody (1:25). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (10 ug/ml, 10 min).SMAD9 immunoreactivity is localized to cytoplasm and nucleus significantly. |
