Description |
BID is a pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 protein containing only the BH3 domain. In response to apoptotic signaling, BID interacts with another Bcl-2 family protein, Bax, leading to the insertion of Bax into the outer mitochondrial membrane. Bax is believed to induce the opening of the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel. This results in the release of cytochrome c and other pro-apoptotic factors from the mitochondria leading to activation of caspases. |

Can be stored at +2C to +8C for 1 week. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles. |
Usage |
The antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:1, 000 ca. 2, 000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1, 000. |
