Cluster of differentiation 14 also known as CD14 is a cell surface glycoprotein1 expressed in monocytes, macrophages, polymorphonuclear neutrophils, chondrocytes2, B-cells3, dendritic cells.4 CD14 functions to enhance activation of cells by lipopolysaccharide (LPS).5
