Quality Tested by Leinco Western Blotting: To detect Mouse CD30 Ligand this polyclonal antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. This polyclonal antibody should be used in conjunction with compatible second-step reagents such as PN:G505 and a chromogenic substrate such as PN:T343. The detection limit for Mouse CD30 Ligand is 5 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The sensitivity of detection may increase up to 50 fold when a chemiluminescent substrate is used.

The CD30 ligand is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily. CD30L is expressed on the cell surface of activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes. Recombinant CD30L has been shown to co-stimulate T cells and to act as a mitogen for Hodgkin's disease derived cell lines. The receptor for CD30L, CD30/ TNFRSF8/CD153, is a type I cytokine receptor that is highly expressed by activated T cells, Hodgkin and Reed- Sternberg (H-RS) cells, and anaplastic large cell lymphoma cells. CD30 ligation by CD30L mediates pleiotropic effects including cell proliferation, activation, differentiation and cell death by apoptosis.

Neutralization: This antibody is useful for neutralization of Mouse CD30 Ligand bioactivity. The antibody dose required to neutralize 50% (ND₅₀) of the biological activity of Mouse CD30 Ligand (at 500 ng/ml) is 3 - 10 µg/ml.
