Background	LAIR2 is asecreted, 131 amino acid (aa) protein that contains one IglikeC2 type domain, making it a member of the Ig superfamily. Although one is secreted and one ismembranebound, the two LAIR proteins are thought to have arisen from a commongene ancestor and appear to share similaradhesion profiles. This suggeststhat LAIR2 may compete with LAIR1 for ligand binding.
