Bio Background |
This gene product belongs to the tektin family ofproteins. Tektins comprise a family of filament-forming proteinsthat are coassembled with tubulins to form ciliary and flagellarmicrotubules. This gene is predominantly expressed in the testisand in mouse, tektin 1 mRNA was localized to the spermatocytes andround spermatids in the seminiferous tubules, indicating that itmay play a role in spermatogenesis. |
