Description	InvivoChem Cat #:V1659CAS #:28721-07-5Purity >=98% Description: Oxcarbazepine (also known as GP47680), a sodium channel protein inhibitor, is an anticonvulsant drug used in the treatment of epilepsy. It inhibits the binding of 3HBTX to sodium channels with IC50 of 160 uM and also inhibits the influx of 22Na+ into rat brain synaptosomes with IC50 about 100 uM. It is an anticonvulsant drug primarily used in the treatment of epilepsy. There is some evidence for oxcarbazepine as a mood-stabilizing agent and thus, it can be used as add-on therapy for bipolar disorder in patients that have failed or are unable to tolerate approved treatments.
