Description: Go 6983 (also known as GOE 6983) is a novel and potent pan-PKC (protein kinase C) inhibitor against PKCalpha, PKCbeta, PKCgamma and PKCdelta with IC50 of 7 nM, 7 nM, 6 nM and 10 nM, respectively; it is less potent to PKCzeta and is inactive on PKCu. GO6893 displays cardioprotective properties and can reduce polymorphonuclear leukocyte adherence and infiltration following myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. When tested with MCF-7 and T47D cells, Go 6983 showed reversible effect on the down-regulation of PKCalphaand PKCdelta induced by PKC activator PDBu, while decreased the expression of PKCeta which up-regulated by PDBu.
