Background	The Collagen-Induced Arthritis (CIA) mouse model uses injections of complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) emulsified with heterologous type II collagen to induce autoimmune-mediated arthritis. Unlike type II collagen, immunization with type I collagen cannot induce autoimmune-mediated diseases, making it an ideal control for autoimmune mediated arthritis models. This kit allows for characterization of the immune response to autologous type I collagen in mice, after immunization with heterologous type I collagen.
