Immunogen:	Peptide corresponding to amino acids 42-59 of human RAGE.
Specificity Note:	This product recognises human Receptor for Advanced Glycation End products (RAGE). RAGE is a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily which binds a variety of ligands including advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and amyloid fibrils. RAGE is expressed by endothelium mononuclear phagocytes smooth muscle and neurons. Recent studies suggest that RAGE may be involved in a range of pathological conditions including diabetes and Alzheimer\' s disease.
Immunohistology:	This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium Citrate buffer pH6. 0 is recommended for this purpose. Histology: Diabetic kidney
Antiserum Preparation:	Antisera to Human RAGE were raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen.
