Localization:	Type I membrane protein (isoform 1); secreted (isoform 2). Recombinant mouse Flt3/Flk2 Ligand (FL) is produced from a DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain of mouse FL (amino acid residues 1 to 188). The 162 amino acid residue protein generated after removal of the 26 amino acid residue signal peptide has a predicted molecular mass of approximately 18 kDa. The gene for FL has been mapped to chromosome 7 in the mouse.
Function:	Receptor for the FL cytokine. Has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity.
Catalytic Activity:	ATP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine = ADP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine phosphate.
Subunit:	Interacts with FIZ1 following ligand activation (By similarity).
Subcellular Location:	Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
