Specificity:	Mouse CD31/PECAM-1 Mr 130-140 kDa CD31 also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. It is constitutively expressed on the surface of endothelial cells and concentrated at the junction between them. It is also weakly expressed on many peripheral lymphoid cells and paltelets. 1-3 CD31 interacts homotypically in cell adhesion assays. MAb 390 inhibits the aggregation of L cells transfected with a variant form of CD31. 1 3
Working Dilution:	Flow Cytometry: 0. 2 ug/106 cells
Warning:	Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin eyes or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Function:	This protein is a cell adhesion molecule expressed on platelets and at endothelial cell intercellular junctions.
Subcellular Location:	Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity:	Long isoform predominates all tissues examined isoform Delta12 was detected only in trachea and isoform Delta14-15 only in lung isoform Delta14 was detected in all tissues examined with the strongest expression in heart.
Ptm:	Phosphorylated on Ser and Tyr residues after cellular activation.
