0. 09% Sodium Azide (NaN3) 1% Bovine Serum AlbuminApprox. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 0. 1mg/ml
Specificity:
Detects human CD9 also known as Motility-related protein-1 (MRP-1). CD9 is a 24-27kD transmembrane protein which is a member of the tetraspanin family. It is thought that the main role of tetraspanins is to form signal transducing complexes with integrins at the cell surface and for this reason CD9 has multiple functions in cell adhesion and motility platelet activation gamete fusion and cell proliferation. CD9 has a functional role as a tumour metastatic suppressor and is expressed in melanomas and colon lung and breast carcinomas Recommended Negative Controls: MOUSE IgG2a NEGATIVE CONTROL:FITC
Function:
Involved in platelet activation and aggregation. Regulates paranodal junction formation. Involved in cell adhesion cell motility and tumor metastasis. Required for sperm-egg fusion. Ref. 11Ref. 12Ref. 13Subunit structureForms both disulfide-linked homodimers and higher homooligomers as well as heterooligomers with other members of the tetraspanin family. Associates with CR2/CD21 and with PTGFRN/CD9P1. Interacts directly with IGSF8. Ref. 14Ref. 16Ref. 17Subcellular locationMembrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue specificityExpressed by a variety of hematopoietic and epithelial cells. Post-translational modificationProtein exists in three forms with molecular masses between 22 and 27 kDa and is known to carry covalently linked fatty acids. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family. [1] \" A second tumor necrosis factor receptor gene product can shed a naturally occurring tumor necrosis factor inhibitor. \" Kohno T.
