Genway ID:
GWB-3E2B96
Specificity:
TRPA1
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgG
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline pH7. 7
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)Approx. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 1. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide: internal domain of human TRPA1 conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH).
Specificity:
Detects Transient receptor potential A1 (TRPA1) an excitatory cation channel that is highly expressed in nociceptive neurons and plays an important role in inflammatory pain. TRPA1 mediates the response to the proalgesic bradykinin as well as to pungent irritants found in mustards garlic and cinnamon. TRPA1 may also be involved in hearing (as the mammalian hair cell mechanotransducer) and in the detection of cold stimuli. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Receptor-activated non-selective cation channel involved in detection of pain and possibly also in cold perception and inner ear function. Has a central role in the pain response to endogenous inflammatory mediators and to a diverse array of volatile irritants such as mustard oil garlic and acrolein an irritant from tears gas and vehicule exhaust fumes. Acts also as a ionotropic cannabinoid receptor by being activated by delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) the psychoactive component of marijuana. Not involved in menthol sensation. May be a component for the mechanosensitive transduction channel of hair cells in inner ear thereby participating in the perception of sounds. Probably operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system By similarity. Subcellular locationMembrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Probable. Tissue specificityExpressed at very low level. Expressed at very low level in human fibroblasts and at a moderate level in liposarcoma cells. Ref. 1Miscellaneous: Inhibited by ruthenium red a potent blocker of TRPV channels By similarity. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the transient receptor (TC 1. A. 4) family. [View classification]Contains 15 ANK repeats. [1] \" The murine homologue of the T lymphocyte CD2
