Biological Activity	The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human MO7e cells is < 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 106 units/mg.
Description	TPO is a lineage specific growth factor, produced in the liver, kidney and skeletal muscle. It stimulates the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes, and promotes increased circulating levels of platelets, in vivo . TPO signals through the c-mpl receptor and acts as an important regulator of circulating platelets. Human and mouse TPO exhibits cross-species reactivity. Recombinant mouse TPO is a fully biologically active 174 amino acid polypeptide (18.7 kDa), which contains the erythropoietin-like domain of the full length TPO protein.
Formulation	Sterile filtered and lyophilized from 10 mM Tris, pH 8.0.

Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. The mouse TPO should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted in water or other buffer solutions or stored at -20C.
Storage and Stability	The lyophilized TPO should be stored desiccated below 0C. Reconstituted TPO should be stored in working aliquots at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
