Background	Required for renal tubular integrity. May regulate local cytoskeletal structure in kidney tubule epithelial cells. May regulate ciliary biogenesis through targeting of proteins to the cilia.Defects in NEK8 are the cause of nephronophthisis type 9 (NPHP9) [MIM:613824]. NPHP9 is an autosomal recessive disorder resulting in end-stage renal disease. It is a progressive tubulo-interstitial kidney disorder histologically characterized by modifications of the tubules with thickening of the basement membrane, interstitial fibrosis and, in the advanced stages, medullary cysts.
Product	1mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol.
Purification and Purity	The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability	Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity	NEK8 pAb detects endogenous levels of NEK8 protein.
WB	WesternBlot (WB) analysis of NEK8 pAb in extracts from 293T, MCF7, Hela, Jurkat, V251, A549, K562 cells and mouse liver, testis tissues.
IHC	Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis of NEK8 polyclonal antibody in paraffin-embedded Mouse Lung Metastasis tissue.
